Engr. Muhammad Sani Yahaya is an engineer who deals with many puzzles in his field of expertise. He works in total composure, even in complicated systems. He has vast experience in various power systems across the value chain and strong skills spanning project development and execution, contract management, customer management strategies and off-grid solar system designs and installations.

Before he was appointed Head of Generation at the Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited, Engr. Yahaya acquired extensive experience in power system generation, transmission, and distribution. He worked across diverse power generation fleets, including aeroderivative turbines, and received hands-on training from major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

Engr. Yahaya brings extensive expertise in hydro turbine operations and maintenance, having completed comprehensive training at the Kainji Hydroelectric Power Station (Mainstream Energy Solutions Ltd.). He currently serves as Head of Generation at a hydro power plant with an installed capacity of 25.7 MW.

He holds certifications in power system operations and maintenance from the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN). His career experience includes roles as Instrumentation and Control Engineer at the 210 MW gas power plant at Dangote Cement, Obajana, and Assistant Manager, Protection, Control, and Metering (PC&M) at Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO).
